Granola Dust Waffles – A Wholesome Breakfast Favourite

If you love the idea of waffles but want something a little more nourishing, Granola Dust Waffles might just become your new go-to. Made with a blend of granola, flour, and just a touch of Wilson’s Olive Oil, they’re light, crispy, and surprisingly good for you.

They only take 10 minutes to whip up and are packed with fibre and texture thanks to the granola base. Whether you’re making breakfast for the family or treating yourself to a solo brunch, these waffles are just the thing to keep you satisfied without weighing you down.

Prep time: 5 mins

Cook time: 3–4 mins per batch

Serves: 2–3

Ingredients

  • 50g granola dust

  • 100g self-raising flour

  • ½ tsp baking powder

  • 1 large free-range egg

  • 220ml semi-skimmed milk

  • Wilson’s Foods Olive Oil (for greasing)

  • Optional toppings: fresh fruit, natural yoghurt, runny honey

Method

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix together the granola dust, self-raising flour, and baking powder.

Step 2

Crack in the egg and whisk in the milk until the mixture is smooth and lump-free.

Step 3

Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with Wilson’s Olive Oil to prevent sticking and enhance flavour.

Step 4

Pour in enough batter to fill the mould (without overfilling) and cook according to your waffle iron’s instructions. Typically, this takes around 3 to 4 minutes until golden and crisp.

Step 5

Serve warm with toppings of your choice. We recommend sliced bananas, seasonal berries, a dollop of thick yoghurt, and a drizzle of honey for a naturally sweet finish.

Using granola dust as the base adds subtle crunch and heartiness without making the batter dense. It’s a great way to boost fibre content while still enjoying that signature waffle texture. Paired with Wilson’s Olive Oil, you also get a hit of healthy fats that keeps the batter light and moist.

Plus, this is one of those recipes that feels indulgent while still being aligned with healthy living—especially when topped with yoghurt and fruit.
